Clarendale at Arcadia
The Arcadia area in Phoenix has a rich design history in mid-century and post modernism. This senior housing community seeks to evoke these influential design roots and bring contemporary living to the neighborhoods growing demographic. Native and focal planting is utilized throughout the project to define and enhance users’ experiences within the varying spaces. Ground level memory care gardens provide colorful plantings attractive to butterflies & hummingbirds, sound enhancements for resident welfare, and low maintenance, attractive gathering spaces for family & friends visiting residents. The podium decks incorporate a wide array of uses that will redefine the beauty and aesthetics of senior living. The main amenity space weaves a large outdoor kitchen & dining area together with a modern fireplace. A rectilinear pool and spa serve as a backdrop to this space, with large palms bordering the various types of lounge seating and a clean private cabana serving as the focal point at the back of the pool. Various types of seating, from large to small, are thoughtfully located throughout the space to activate the nearby bocce ball court and multi-use lawn. A secondary courtyard features a small yoga lawn for residents, as well as a shaded fire trough and dining tables for community gatherings.
